WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

It is true to say, permanent make up has seen a recent revival, with the beauty industry moving in a more aesthetic direction. With clients favouring botox, fillers, surgical facials and cosmetic procedures, every day beauty maintenance has taken on a new form. Advances in products and techniques, have made way for a whole new generation of permanent makeup, featuring sharp fluffy strokes, powdery bold brows and sharp eyeliner flicks. With particular advances in pigments; colours are now rich, warm, long-lasting and tailored perfectly to a clients skin tone.

Along with these advances came ‘Microblading’. A technique of inserting pigment into the skin with a hand tool, the tip of which is made of a row of tiny needles in the shape of a blade. This allows the technician to artistically draw fine hair strokes, undistinguishable from the real hairs themselves, earning this treatment the nickname ‘brow embroidery’. A good technician can transform a set of brows by altering the shape, thickness, colour, or simply creating definition.
